Fellowship in Simulation-Based Education
This fellowship program is offered to graduates of physician residency and clinical doctoral programs who are interested in working at or overseeing large-scale simulation centers. There are three paths to completion.
- A two-year experience with a focus on theoretical foundations and applied skills of simulation-based education and research. This path concurrently leads to a Masters in Health Professions Education (MHPE) from the University of Illinois Chicago.
- A two-year experience with a focus on theoretical foundations and applied skills of simulation-based education and research. This does not include the MHPE program.
- A one-year experience for those who can demonstrate fellowship graduation competencies through prior coursework associated with a master’s degree, doctorate or a non-credit study to improve teaching.
Clinical Simulation Fellowship
This fellowship is a one or two-year program for individuals with a passion for simulation-based education, research and innovation. A bachelor’s degree is not required for acceptance, however, applicants should have a license, registration or certification as a health care professional. Non-clinicians will be considered on a case-by-case basis. There are three paths to completion.
- A two-year experience with a focus on theoretical foundations and applied skills of simulation-based education and research. This path concurrently leads to a Masters in Health Professions Education (MHPE) from the University of Illinois Chicago.
- A two-year experience with a focus on theoretical foundations and applied skills of simulation-based research and education. This program does not include the MHPE program.

Certificate in Simulation
This 72-hour program focuses on practical "how-to" information and practice in simulation. A bachelor’s degree is not required. Non-clinicians will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
